Meeting/Event Information

PDMs are usually held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

Do you have numerous employees attending an event and would you like to utilize one credit card for all attendees?  Just add additional tickets to your shopping cart.

Note: Reservations for PDMs on the website are usually turned off in the morning before the event to print name tags. You will still be allowed to attend, but will be loaded to the system later on as a walkin.

For all our events and programs, would you want to pay with your credit card?  Simply select Credit Card as payment type and follow the instructions.  We do not store credit card numbers, and all transactions are conducted over 128 bit encryption for total security and peace of mind.

Please register on-line by clicking on the Register Now links or call the registration number as indicated.  At any time, if you have questions or would like assistance with registration, please contact the chapter administrator.

Cody will talk about the ongoing wars and how they have affected the prices here in the US more than people realize.  The shutting down of the Persian Gulf has drawn down the strategic reserves of oil in each of the western countries.  Now that a second front with the Houthi rebels has opened up, it has gotten worse.  The bombing of a Saudi pipeline and the effective shutting down of the Red Sea also has caused another oil shortage.

The oil is ½ of the equation, but the second front is the lack of refining capacity worldwide.  Russia used to be a huge exporter of distillates (liquids made from oil) and now the Ukrainians have bombed them so much that they have cut off distillate exports and are having shortages at home.  This affects fuels, plastics, chemicals, fertilizers, and is running the price on everything up.

Cody Bates has 25 years of material sales and specific product development in the plastics industry.  He specializes in custom material formulations of thermoplastic resins.  For the last 24 years, he has been doing this on his own in conjunction with the ten plastics companies he currently represents:  management of waste collection, treatment, and disposal facility under state and national agencies for RCRA regulated hazardous and non-hazardous wastes from a wide array of industries; consulting on waste contamination and material spills, both point and non-point source; expert witness for contested public hearings at the Railroad Commission of Texas, the organization that oversees the Texas oil and gas industry.
